License & Activation

Everything about your Ravenburst license.

Free Trial

Ravenburst includes a 7-day free trial. No account, no credit card required. On first launch, the app registers your machine with our server and starts the trial automatically.

  • The trial countdown is shown in the status bar
  • All features are available during the trial
  • If you're offline when you first launch, the trial starts once you connect
  • When the trial expires, writing and reading continue — only saving and exporting are paused until you activate

Activating Your License

After purchasing at ravenburst.com/pricing, you'll receive an activation code by email within a few minutes.

  1. Open Ravenburst
  2. Go to Help → Enter Activation Code
  3. Enter the email address you used to purchase
  4. Paste your activation code
  5. Click Activate

Activation requires an internet connection to register your device.

Multiple Devices

One license covers up to 3 devices. If you get a new computer, deactivate your old one first to free up a slot.

Go to Help → Deactivate License on This Device. You can then activate on your new machine using the same code.

Lost Your Activation Code?

Email support@ravenburst.com with the email address you used to purchase. We'll resend your code within 48 hours.

Offline Use

Once activated, Ravenburst works almost entirely offline. The only things that require internet are:

  • Initial trial registration
  • Activating your license code
  • The 30-day license heartbeat (a silent background check — if offline, the app continues normally)

Upgrades

  • Your license includes free updates through v2 — all patches and minor versions at no cost
  • Future major versions (v3+) will be available at a discounted upgrade price (~$10–15)
  • You are never forced to upgrade — your current version keeps working
  • Kickstarter backers receive free updates through v3

Refunds

We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email support@ravenburst.com. Upon refund, your activation code will be deactivated and the app will revert to an expired state.
